Reflexive Verbs

Reflexive verbs are used when the subject and the object are the same person. They use a reflexive pronoun like mich, dich, sich, uns, euch.

1. Reflexive Pronouns (Akkusativ)

2. Common Reflexive Verbs

sich waschen → Ich wasche mich. (I wash myself)

sich freuen → Er freut sich. (He is happy)

sich erinnern an → Erinnerst du dich an die Schule? (Do you remember school?)

sich treffen → Wir treffen uns im Park. (We meet in the park)

sich beeilen → Beeil dich! (Hurry up!)

sich interessieren für → Sie interessieren sich für Musik. (They are interested in music)

3. Reflexive in Dative

Sometimes reflexive pronouns appear in the dative case when there is already an accusative object:

Ich kämme mir die Haare. → I comb my hair.
(mir = dative reflexive, die Haare = accusative object)

💡 Tip: Most reflexive verbs are in the accusative, but some are in the dative when another object is present.
