Konjunktiv II – Fortgeschritten

The Konjunktiv II is used for politeness, wishes, unreal situations, and hypothetical conditions. At B2 level, it is important to master both würde + Infinitiv and the **special forms** of common verbs.

1. Würde + Infinitiv

Ich würde gern nach Deutschland reisen.
→ I would like to travel to Germany.

Er würde mehr lernen, wenn er Zeit hätte.
→ He would study more if he had time.

2. Special Forms (Strong Verbs)

Wenn er mehr Zeit hätte, würde er ein Buch schreiben.
→ If he had more time, he would write a book.

4. Wishes

Ich wünschte, ich wäre in Berlin.
→ I wish I were in Berlin.

Sie wünschte, sie hätte mehr Freunde.
→ She wishes she had more friends.

5. Politeness

Könnten Sie mir bitte helfen?
→ Could you please help me?

Dürfte ich hier sitzen?
→ May I sit here?
